Some love stories are carefully planned

Ours began with a spontaneous Friday night… and somehow, by meeting each other twice in the same evening.

On one side of Miami, Sophie had gone to dinner and drinks with her best friend, Isa. Later that night, their friend Elias suggested heading to Treehouse in Miami Beach, where one of their favorite artists, Nicola Cruz, was playing. They thought, Why not?

That same evening, Pedro didn’t have any plans either. He called his cousin Jose, who mentioned some friends were already at the beach. After grabbing drinks at Faena, they headed to Treehouse.

Neither of them had any idea that one last-minute decision would change their lives forever.

Like most great nights out, everyone eventually ended up at the bar. The line was packed, but if you know Isa, you know she somehow always finds her way to the front. Jose was just as resourceful. He made a simple deal: if Isa ordered drinks for him and Pedro, he’d buy drinks for her and Sophie.

While Isa and Jose handled the drinks, Pedro and Sophie found themselves waiting together.

Sophie introduced herself as, “Sophie… with a PH.”

What started as small talk quickly turned into an easy conversation. They laughed, discovered they had plenty of mutual connections growing up in Miami, and before they knew it, the drinks had arrived.

As the night went on, they drifted in different directions. At one point, Sophie stepped outside for a bit, and when she came back, she noticed Pedro was still holding the drink he had saved for her. She thought it was incredibly sweet…

Then, in true Sophie fashion, she left without saying goodbye.

As Pedro and Jose walked to La Sandwicherie for a late-night snack, Pedro couldn’t believe he had let her leave without asking for her phone number. He even searched social media for “Sophie with a PH” and “medical sales,” hoping somehow he’d find her.
